So, I'm doing it! DGC will get an omnibus print paperback if enough people support it! I only need 130 people to pre-order the book at $25 each to make it happen. Other rewards include bang logo bumper stickers and T-shirts. Please give, and spread the word if you support Daron (and me), by giving folks these links:

(I'm going to try to embed the fun promo video I made also. It should work, but maybe my ad blocker in Firefox is making it seem like it doesn't? Testing, testing... Nope, doesn't work. Under the cut, see a discussion of the iframe tag and the lj-embed (site-embed on Dreamwidth) tag. Why don't they play nice?)
That is SOOOO weird. It's not the ad blocker. The video is in "iframe" tags. I use these all the time to embed Youtube videos on LJ/IJ/DW. LJ wraps them in an "lj-embed" tag, Dreamwidth uses "site-embed". On this post, the "embed" tags show up, but the space between them is BLANK. The iframe code disappears. (And yet a blank box of appropriate size still shows up? WTF?)
I've tried putting the iframe code back in, to no avail. Very curious, no? Why would some iframes work and not others? Just checked and the videos on all my other posts are working fine.
Update: I've tried reordering the tags to match the ones that did work, but it didn't work for this one. And how is it still reserving the space for the video when the actual code for the iframe is now completely gone? There's nothing between the two "embed" tags. Weird weird weird...
More update: According to LJ documentation, I should "Confirm that your embed code does not contain any prohibited HTML tags, such as the iframe tag." So apparently iframe is not supposed to work at all. And yet it does when I embed from Youtube, just not from Kickstarter. So I guess the question should be not why won't my Kickstarter video work, but why do my Youtube videos work at all? Crazy, eh?
